James L. Pate joined the firm in 1987. Mr. Pate’s areas of practice and experience include Governmental Liability & Civil Rights Defense, Insurance Defense, Insurance Coverage and Insurance Agents’ Errors & Omissions. In over 40 years of practicing law, there are few government entities in Acadiana that Mr. Pate has not represented. The long list of public clients includes both municipal and parish governments, sheriffs’ offices and levee districts. Mr. Pate considers his practice inspiring because of the role he takes to protect and defend people who are in the service industry, whether they are insurance agents providing protection for their clients or police officers who are responsible for the  safety of citizens. Mr. Pate’s forte is communication and he enjoys meeting and interacting with his clients on a personal level, as well as the challenge of litigation in the courtroom.
